Focus on Grapevine: Texas Scores Top Ten Spots for Business and Crypto in Latest CNBC Rankings

In the latest report from CNBC, Texas ranked No. 5 on its "America's Top States for Business 2022" list and grabbed the No. 10 spot for leading America in creating a crypto economy.

For the 15th annual “Top States for Business” ranking, empirical data was gathered on all 50 states across 88 metrics in ten broad categories of competitiveness. The categories were weighted based on how frequently states use them in economic development efforts. For the first time, states’ viability in the crypto economy was assessed. The Technology and Innovation category included a measure of each state’s share of computational power or “hash rate.” The Business Friendliness category gave special consideration to how states are regulating the increasingly important crypto industry.  

Breaking down the categories for Texas, the Lone Star State scored well in areas like workforce (No. 2 overall), technology and innovation (No. 4), and the economy (No. 8).
