There's no better time to launch a new endeavor than Spring! Businesses and entrepreneurs moving into Grapevine isn't exactly new behavior, but it's always exciting when opportunity blooms in our community. Every month, the Economic Development team spotlights a collection of new businesses that show off the diverse and powerful economic engine here in the heart of DFW. Here's a sampling of newcomers to help you launch your own season of renewal…
We Can't Wait to ‘Tile’ You About Floor & Decor!
The old LA Fitness building at 3200 Grapevine Mills Pkwy just had a major glow-up, and the new tenants can help your house do the same. Floor & Decor has arrived in Grapevine, with a soft opening already in the books and a Grand Opening Block Party scheduled for April 11. Whether you're looking for a fun way to spend your Saturday afternoon or hoping to refresh a room or two, the in-house design studio and massive inventory at this renovation retailer are the perfect place to start your Hot Home Summer.™️
Geoffrey the Giraffe Gets a Bigger Enclosure
Residents and visitors were thrilled to hear about a Toys R Us brand revival at Grapevine Mills last year, and their enthusiasm must have translated to success, because the store is relocating into a larger space within our beloved shopping center. According to Simon's interactive map, the new and improved toy store will stay in the same neighborhood, but move closer to LEGOLAND Discovery Center and Bubble Planet. The closest entrance will be across from the AMC Theater on the North side of the property, but shoppers can probably follow the sound of children's joyous laughter to the right spot.
Family Jeweler Brooke James Forges a Path to Main Street
It's hard to imagine a business better suited to Grapevine's Historic District than Brooke James. The family-owned jeweler has all the elements of a downtown classic: decades of experience, a particularly Southern style in its offerings, and a heartfelt story behind its name. Designer and metalsmith Kelly Murray learned the trade from her father, picked up the family legacy after five decades of design, and christened the storefront after her grandchildren. If you're partial to fine metals, natural stone, and good people, you'll want to make your way here.
Get Yourself a Tuneup at Body Fusion Massage
If you emerged from winter hibernation with a few more creaky joints and pain points than you remember having last fall, the massage therapists at Body Fusion Massage can help. They're pros at getting active adults into tip-top shape using a combination of trigger point therapy, Thai/sports massage techniques, and targeted exercises. Whether you've got a sports injury, persistent discomfort, or some other nagging soreness (read: your body has started turning on you), owner Christy Perry is here to get you moving again.
Turning the Tables: MESA Becomes Tabla
Grapevine faithful were sad to see Mesa Mexican Restaurant close its doors last year when the owners opted for retirement, and equally excited to hear that it was to be backfilled almost immediately by another dining concept. Bilingual patrons may have even been momentarily delighted by the new tenant's moniker; both ‘tabla’ and ‘mesa’ can refer to a table or flat surface when translated from Spanish to English. Lest anyone be confused, however, this Tabla draws inspiration from traditional South Asian drums. You'll find authentic Indian and Indo-Chinese fusion dishes on the menu from 12:00 pm to 11:30 pm all week except for Mondays, with delivery available for those who prefer marching to their own beat.
