Messina Hof Winery is a triple threat.
The Grapevine winery took home three awards last month at the 38th Lone Star International Wine Competition, according to a news release.
Messina Hof’s 2019 Gewurztraminer Private Reserve received a Grand Star and was also named Best in Texas. A new Riesling-based rosé, Blushing Angel, won bronze.
“Our Messina Hof Private Reserve Gewürztraminer 2019 is a stunning off-dry white with beautiful aromatics, refreshing acidity and wonderful balance,” Karen Bonarrigo, chief administrative officer of Messina Hof Wine Cellars, said in the release. “It is a unique varietal that we have enjoyed working with in the Texas High Plains AVA for many years, and we feel it is one of the most dynamic white wines that Texas produces.”
