Blog, News

Every month, we publish a look at some of the newest businesses that launch or relocate in Grapevine… but, given the vibes around April 1, we made sure to double-check this month's list. As usual, the collection below is a representative sample of restaurants, retailers, and services that received a Certificate of Occupancy within the last 30 days. Our staff also verifies each CO as an expansion, renovation, or novel use.

Big Daddy's Gets a Bigger Menu

Once known as “Big Daddy's Ship Store,” this new cantina is an upgrade to one of Grapevine's most iconic lakeside hangouts. Renovations include a change in ownership, a more expansive menu packed with Tex-Mex favorites, and a wealth of new drink options. Live music will be a weekend staple at Big Daddy's Cantina, too, so you can plan to spend more time bobbing your head and less time BYOB-ing it.

Construction Boom Brings Insta-Worthy Documentation

DFW remains one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the entire United States, so it makes sense that associated services would join the party here in Grapevine. Multivista Documentation Technologies fills an important niche in the new build process; offering laser scans, 360 photography, videography, Scan to BIM services, and more. Visualization is an essential part of the process, and the team at Multivista can handle just about every medium (no mention of oil paintings in their list of services).

Northwest Highway Gets a Taste of the Tropics

New developments have been sprouting along Northwest Highway lately, but few concepts are fresher than Tropical Smoothie Cafe. Boasting a menu with a wide assortment of juices, smoothies, and handheld treats, Grapevine's newest cafe offers walk-in and drive-through service for customers on the go. Whether you're craving a savory flatbread or something fresh to take the edge off your hunger, they promise the menu is irresisti-bowl (we wish we could claim that pun, but it came straight from their site and plagiarism isn't something you can smoothie over).

There's Room for Better Skin Care in Grapevine

Seriously, there's a whole room just for facials. Now open on Texan Trail, The Facial Room offers clinical-grade skin care customized to each client. Their MedSpa takes a customer-service approach to ongoing care, from education to sanitization. You'll find on-site services and top-notch products together under one roof, so you'll have plenty of options to pore over when you visit.

The Block Looks to Raise the Barre Beyond the Summit

The old Summit Climbing Gym location behind Tinseltown has a whole new groove. The Block, a Dance and Drill Team training center, is making moves on Mustang with classes and specialized instruction for young students with big dreams. Self-described as “dance moms' biggest fans,” the Block team is booking consultations across the mid-cities. If you think nobody should put your baby in a corner, they might be the right dance partner for you.
